Chance To Smell David Cameron's Roses

Can you name this garden? Hint: not Downing Street.

Ever wanted to feast your eyes on the Prime Minister's bush? Well, now's your chance. Open Garden Squares Weekend is once again offering tours of 10 Downing Street's garden. The one snag: it's by ballot only, and you'll be up against thousands of others. Still, it's free to enter, and you can do so here. Winners will be notified around 4 June.

The wider Open Garden Squares weekend (14-15 June) is always a good opportunity to visit the little-known or rarely open small parks and gardens of the capital. Your £10 ticket, available now, gets you into around 200 gardens, including private squares, green rooftops, and private spaces. Buying this online also gets you an extra ballot entry into the 10 Downing Street draw.

Twenty gardens join the programme for the first time this year, including Highbury Stadium Square, the only other venue that requires ballot entry. Most other gardens operate on a 'just turn up' basis, although a few need pre-booking.

Open Garden Squares weekend, 14-15 June. Tickets £10 online, £12 on the weekend from participating gardens.
