Vauxhall Village and Rooftop Film Club just announced a winter programme of film screenings in a 'beautiful and quirky space under the railway arches'. At £6 (adults) and £3 (children), tickets are much cheaper than most cinemas, and all proceeds go to local homeless shelter charity Thames Reach.

The short programme includes a Home Alone double bill, and another chance to see what this correspondent considers the Greatest Film Of All Time By Some Margin — The Muppet Christmas Carol.

  • Thursday 12 December: Miracle on 34th Street (7pm)
  • Friday 13 December:  Elf (7pm)
  • Saturday 14 December: The Muppet Christmas Carol (2pm), Scrooged (7pm)
  • Sunday 15 December: Home Alone (2pm) Home Alone 2 (7pm)

Viewers will get a cosy blanket and wireless headphones. The event also includes a Christmas market, with mulled wine and other treats. Full details can be found here.
