Meet Oyster, The Cat Who Went Travelling On The Victoria Line

You’ve got to love a commuting cat. (Yes, you have to – this is the internet, those are the rules.) This little dude hopped onto a rush hour Victoria line train at Seven Sisters last Friday and showed himself to be a very canny traveller by bagging a seat. His journey into town – maybe he was planning to get some early Christmas shopping in down Oxford Street? – was interrupted by Paige Jokovic, a volunteer at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, who happened to be on the same carriage with an empty cat carrier.

The ginger puss, who’s been named Oyster by Battersea staff, doesn’t have a microchip but is happy and healthy, so if anyone’s missing their travelling pet get in touch with Battersea ASAP. If not, he’ll be found a new home.

Anyone wanting one of London’s unwanted moggies can now do late night adopting on the last Thursday – or Purrsday – of each month at Battersea, until 8pm. But remember: a pet is life, not just for Christmas.
