Veggie Showcase At Olympia This Weekend

vegfestuk

Vegans, vegetarians and veg-curious folk unite at Olympia this week for a two day VegFest with stalls, chefs and entertainment.

The food is, obviously, a big draw. There's veggie and vegan street food on offer from all over the world – do you fancy Caribbean, Thai, African or sushi? Take a look at pies and cakes, ice cream, burgers and dairy-free cheese. There are also stalls selling gifts, clothes and beauty products plus information about animal welfare. Many of the stallholders have discounts and offers, so have a nosey round to offset the entry price.

Catch cookery demonstrations on the hour, every hour, covering sauces, chocolate desserts, tofu, African fusion and more. There are also loads of talks on lifestyle, nutrition, campaigns and an awful lot of people convinced of the benefits of raw food.

You want entertainment? Goldblade with John Robb play on Saturday at 6pm and David Straightjacket – escapologist and swordswallower, egads – is around both days. We heartily recommended comedians Lucy Porter and Andrew O'Neill if you're there on Sunday at 2pm.

9,000 tickets have already gone and you're advised to book in advance, though there should be tickets on the door (you may have to wait).
