At last year's Frieze art fair, the highlight was not the super rich galleries with their big name artists. Nor was it a painting, sculpture or installation. It was a television set populated with actors, props and a camera crew.
The brainchild of Turkish artist Asli Cavusoglu, a stand at Frieze was used to film a crime scene drama while people walked through the fair admiring the artworks. It felt very surreal as the professional actors and cameramen went about their business playing out scenes from a CSI-style drama.
Now that Frieze is coming round again, it's the perfect time to show the finished article – three episodes of a forensic drama where artworks serve as both clues to the mystery and the weapon of the assailant.
Watching it being filmed at Frieze last year was a bizarre and fresh experience, and it will be interesting to see if it holds up as a work of video art in its own right. The exhibition will also feature props from the set and a film about how this work was filmed at Frieze.
