London Comedy: Robin Ince, Josie Long, Jay Foreman

Robin Ince, at Happy Mondays and with Josie Long in Stratford.

Our selection of London’s comedy gigs this week.

Mae Martin

Short notice for this one, but there's a free gig at the Camden Head tonight, 5 October, with whimsical, musical Canadian Mae Martin headlining. Joining her are Patrick Turpin, Sarah Campbell and Oscar Jenkyn Jones. 7.30pm, free.

Max & Ivan

Our reaction to Max & Ivan's last show was that it was just "too good for human words". We haven't seen the new one yet but we trust them enough to still recommend their high-paced sketches. At the Soho Theatre 7-12 October, £10-£17.50.

Robin Ince / Josie Long

A couple of opportunities to see possibly the hardest working man in comedy. He's headlining Happy Mondays in New Cross with Joel Dommett, Katherine Ryan and Alistair Green on 7 October, 8pm, £5, and then with Josie Long in a live version of their Utter Shambles podcast. They're at Stratford Circus on 11 and 12 October, 8pm, £14 / £12.

Jay Foreman

If you enjoyed Jay's song about all the tube stations (see below), get yourself to the Pleasance on 8 and 9 October, for an hour of adorable musical wizardry. 7.30pm, £7
