Waterloo & City Line To Run Later

wcline_150813The Central and Waterloo & City tube lines are getting an increased service.

More trains will run on the Central line during the busiest times. During the morning rush hour there will be 34 trains an hour in total – that should mean a wait of about two minutes – with some services running to and from Epping rather than Loughton or Debden. You can also expect more trains on weekday evenings and all day Saturdays.

But the biggest change is reserved for The Drain, that bizarre little line shuttling between Bank and Waterloo. The line currently shuts down before 10pm on weekdays and 7pm on Saturdays, but from 16 September it will run until 12.30am Mon-Sat (still no Sunday service). You'll be able to catch a train every three and a half minutes up to 9.30pm, every six minutes until 11.30pm and every ten minutes until shutdown. No more faffing around travelling via London Bridge or on the 76 bus for SW-dwelling City workers on the lash/at the office late.
