Where Are The Best Pubs In Queen's Park And Kilburn?

Where Are The Best Pubs In Queen's Park And Kilburn?

Friend in a pint glass by Chutney Bannister in the Londonist Flickr pool.

Part 'Q' of our alphabetical pub crawl.

Update: the results are now out.

There aren't many parts of town beginning with Q. We might have chosen Queensway, but it's a bit close to our previous Notting Hill pub crawl. Which pretty much leaves Queen's Park. It's a nice enough part of town, but doesn't quite have the breadth of drinking dens we're looking for. So to widen the playing field, we've added Kilburn into the mix.

So, which are the best pubs and bars in Queen's Park and Kilburn? As ever, the definition of the area is up to you, so long as the venues are in reasonable pub-crawling distance of these centres.

Here’s how to play

  1. Let us know (in the comments below, on Facebook, or by tweeting #bestQPKilburnPub) your favourite pubs in the area.
  2. We’ll tally up the votes in a couple of days and publish the results.
  3. We’ll then arrange a pub crawl around the four most popular choices. You’re welcome to join us.
  4. As mentioned above, the definition of what counts as Queen's Park/Kilburn is up to you.
  5. By ‘pubs’, we’re using a shorthand — you can also vote for bars.
  6. You can nominate more than one place. All nominations count as one vote, whether you rank them or not. Likes on Facebook and retweets of someone else’s vote are also counted as new votes.
  7. Venues should be open to the public with no pre-booking, entry fee or membership required.

So, where shall we go?

Alice House! :D

Paramount London

So many to choose from, but The Black Lion and Priory Tavern are two favourites.

La-di-dah Lauren

Absolutely the Priory Tavern (Belsize Road) for No.1. Wonderful friendly, knowledgeable staff - incredible selection of rums and gins, amazing cocktails, great grub AND games. One of the few pubs I will happily go to intentionally on my own and know it'll still be lovely. It is everybody's 'Cheers'.

The NLT - always a fab range of ales and very good food too.

Sarah says...

The Salusbury (amazing pizza too) and The Alice House

ALICE HOUUSEE!! amazing food and cocktails!

Alice House for sure!

You have to go to The Regent just of Kilburn Lane (by the Paradise bar). I would go there last as they usually have a DJ- its a small but entering dance floor :)

Alice House definitely!

The Salusbury and The Alice House in Queens Park, can we veer slightly over to Kensal Rise? If so, The Shop and The Chamberlayne

West Hampstead

North London Tavern, Black Lion, Priory Tavern and if you want to push the boat out then the Colin Campbell.

Tamsin @ A Certain Adventure

The Shop on Chamberlayne Rd for lovely jar cocktails!

Definitely Alice House!

North London Tavern, Black Lion

Alice House all the way - great food, cocktails and atmosphere.

1. Alice House
2. The Shop
3. The Northern Railway Tavern
4. Corib Rest
5. Biddy Mulligans

Queen of Kilburn's Parks

1. The North London Tavern: awesome management and staff, relaxing dining room (with new, excellent chef), great upstairs space and good choice of bevs
2. Paradise By Way of Kensal Rise: Now slightly too cool for school - but in its own special way always a garaunteed good - if hectic - night out
3. The Regent - so solid, great punters
4. The Corrib Rest - no fuss, just a great original type Irish pub of the area
5. William IV - gem on Harrow rd
6. The Black Lion - great pub but hideous tree wallpaper

The Black Lion, Priory Tavern and the North London Tavern!

The Kensal Rise end of Queens Park:
the Island

The Chamberlayne
and hear hear to North London Tavern and Alice House

Denise Deedee Hamilton

Got to be the Alice House just by the station, great chilled vibe in there.

Mason Arms, the Island, Paradise Bar!

The Chippenham is a local boozer that has (for now) resisted gentrification. It is a beautiful victorian pub with stunning tile work and a small but sunny patio. Good selection of beer and cider. It's a bit rough but who wants yet another styled pub.

With South Kilburn well on it's way in its 10 year regeneration project the "Chipp" is bound to change. Enjoy as it is before someone buys it and does a make over.

Alice House every time :) Woop!

In no particular order Alice House, Caldo, Corrib Rest (all Salusbury Road), North London Tavern, Black Lion, and Betsy Smith (all Kilburn High Road).
