Not For Rental Movie-Inspired Charity Exhibition

aakLondon-based designers Timba Smits and Gordon ‘Flash’ Shaw have teamed up with Little White Lies magazine and more than 200 artists for a film-themed exhibition to raise funds and awareness for Art Against Knives and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Not For Rental opens this week at east London gallery 71a featuring work from studios I Love Dust, Crispin Finn, illustrators Stevie Gee and Hattie Stewart, typographers Daren Newman and Gemma O’Brien, and street artists Mr Penfold, Miso and The Yok. The exhibition comes packed full of surprises and, like any great movie, a secret twist revealed on the opening night.

Smits and Shaw came up with the idea after being personally affected by cancer and knife crime. An events programme around the exhibition features talks, screenings and workshops, including workshops for cancer patients and knife crime victims.

Not For Rental opens today for one week only. The hundreds of original, one-off artworks will go on sale 13 July with all proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Support and Art Against Knives.

71a gallery is at 71 Leonard Street, London EC2A 4QS
