The Knowledge: A Capital Quiz Challenge

Could this be the ultimate quiz about London? The Knowledge will be a super-tricksy multimedia challenge, to be held at the Cumberland Hotel in Marble Arch on 4 July.

Your host for the evening is Mark Mason. As the author of Walk The Lines (in which he treks the length of every tube line) and The Importance of Being Trivial (a book about the value of trivia), he is uniquely qualified to write a challenging London quiz. Rounds include the London A-Z  (general knowledge), the City, food and drink, London transport, sport, music, politics and the papers, art and literature and capital shops and hotels. Money raised from tickets and sponsorship will be donated to The Legacy List, the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park Charity. If they sell out all the tables, they'll be able to fund a new reading project for schools in east London.

Prizes include tickets to the upcoming Live Nation concerts and Olympic memorabilia.

The evening includes a three-course meal and drinks in swanky surroundings, and the aim is to raise lots of money for charity...all of which means it's a little more expensive than your common-or-garden pub quiz — £100 a head, looking for tables of 10. Perhaps one to consider for a competitive but fun office outing or teambuilding?

The Knowledge is at the Cumberland Hotel, Marble Arch, 4 July, 6.30-11pm. Follow @TheLegacyList and @WalkTheLinesLDN
