Trafalgar Square was the public centre of celebrations over the weekend for Vaisakhi, one of the most sacred holidays in the Sikh calendar, and regarded as the start of the New Year by some groups. Organised by The Mayor of London, the festivities saw Bhangra and Punjabi music, dance, food and drink, face painting and other children’s activities. Photographer José Farinha was their to capture the vibrant colours and party atmosphere.
