Pink Beach Bar @ Gaucho Canary Wharf

Avid lovers of London rooftop bars should expect a lot more popping up over the next few months, as summer gradually drags itself towards blighty (about bloody time). One unlikely setting for such a hangout is Canary Wharf, with Gaucho joining the sun-worshipping trend by way of a pink beach party theme.

The rooftop of the venue will host a selection of pretty pink cocktails, rose fizz and a bespoke cocktail, the Pink Puppy, comprising pomegranate, a dose of Belvedere vodka and chocolate bitters. That'll cost you £12, £2 of which goes towards towards breast cancer research. Music comes courtesy of DJs and a piano (which is also pink, obviously). Expect to walk into wind-breakers when you've got a handful of booze, and lounge around on deck chairs and daybeds which are the chain's signature black and white and, er ... not pink.

You can also try your hand at the in-house boules tournament. The victorious team will not only be able to use 'hey baby, I'm pretty good with my boules' as a pick-up line at the bar, they'll also win a trip down the Thames on the Gaucho Sunseeker, which happens to be a two bedroom 62 ft yacht.

Anyone fancy getting a team together? Guys?

The Pink Beach Bar will be at Gaucho Canary, 29 Westferry Circus, Canary Riverside, E14 8RR, from 28 May until 18 June, noon until 10pm. Booking recommended, 0207 987 9494 or email: canary@gauchorestaurants.com
