Not To Be Sniffed At: The Nose @ Wellcome Collection

This is a sponsored post in partnership with Wellcome Collection.

Although it sits slap bang in the middle of our face, the nose is a rather unconsidered body part. It can't write a letter, it can't compose a score, and whilst it may run, it certainly isn't a world-record sprinter. However the nose is not to be sniffed at, as this late-night event at Wellcome Collection demonstrates.

The Nose is a free, drop in event on Friday 17 May with interactive workshops, performances and even a collection of false noses, all in celebration of the humble schnoz. You can learn about the science of smell, discuss nose jobs with a plastic surgeon or even learn how to play the nose flute - it may be a humble feature but there are more than a few tricks hidden up our nostrils.

The interactive events continue as you can discover exactly what gets up our noses with Ear Nose and Throat Surgeon, Simon Gane, or the brave can dare to smell chemist showman Andrea Sella's little bottles. If you are a hay-fever sufferer then you can find out why only some plants make us sneeze (thereby allowing you to avoid them for the rest of eternity), whilst those who fancy getting stuck right in can watch a live video tour of the nose via a recreational nasendoscopy.

So, head over to Wellcome Collection and give your nose the attention it so deserves by unpicking (sorry) this most overlooked of body parts.

The Nose takes place on Friday 17 May from 7-11pm at Wellcome Collection, Euston Road, NW1 2BE. Admission is free.
