Party Mod Style At Lower Marsh

Hundreds of scooters will be crossing the Thames on Saturday.

The fourth Scoot the Thames gathers scooter enthusiasts from across the country to ride around London. They'll be setting off from Aldgate at midday, crossing six bridges, before arriving at Lower Marsh by Waterloo around 1-1.30pm – and then it's 60s mod party time. Café del Marsh, vintage clothes shop What the Butler Wore and Radio Days are getting in on the act and there'll be DJs at Scooter Caffé.

Lower Marsh Market will be in situ from 12pm, with specially invited vintage stalls including some bean bags and cushions made with Vespa print fabric. Plus you'll be able to buy spaghetti and meatballs for that proper sunglasses on, whizzing down to Naples vibe.

There's more information about the day in an interview by We Are Waterloo with organiser Bob Morris, or just head to Lower Marsh for early afternoon.

Scoot the Thames ends at Lower Marsh, Waterloo, from 1pm on Saturday 27 April.
