Away From It All Photo Challenge: Deadline Extended

Since the weather is only now just turning springy, we're extending the deadline for the Away From It All photo challenge to give you the May bank holiday weekend to get those super shots in.

This project is a tie-in with London Transport Museum's fantastic Poster Art 150 exhibition, which sees 150 of the best London Transport posters pulled out of the archive and put on show. Our challenge draws on the exhibition's "Away from it all" theme, which includes posters designed to encourage people to escape - to the capital's green fringes, to the suburbs, to its many tranquil open spaces and enjoy leisure pursuits.

Remember, photos must be taken in 2013, the year of the Tube 150 celebrations, but we don’t mind what you take them with. We highly recommend you visit the exhibition and get inspiration from the wonderful posters on display.

Fifty shortlisted images will go on show on the Museum’s Flickrwall. Our experts Tina Smith (Art Editor of Lost in London) and Anna Renton (Curator of the Poster Art 150 exhibition) will select three photographers to be commended and one person will singled out for a special prize, which includes a trip in the driver’s cabin of a London Tube.

The deadline is now extended until midnight on Monday 6 May.

Join the Away From It All Flickrpool to find out how to enter and for full terms and conditions.
