Having closed for good earlier this year (we had a look through its eerily empty corridors last month) the former Television Centre will be redeveloped into offices, homes and studio space, alongside a Beeb-operated 'digital experience' which will show visitors how their favourite shows were made.

The images above show how the redeveloped site, designed by architects AHMM, Duggan Morris, HOK and Maccreanor Lavington, will look. The £500m scheme will comprise over 1,000 homes, with the most conspicuous change coming in the form of a residential block on the site of the existing East Tower, which will be demolished. The central section of Television Centre, famously drawn on the back of napkin in the shape of a question mark, is listed, and will be converted into a hotel and apartments.

Hammersmith & Fulham council will consider the proposals in May.

Further details and images are available over at the Architects' Journal.
