London Stand Up And Sketch Comedy: 3-9 March

Where to find funny this week

Sunday 3 March: Lewis Schaffer (pictured) has been doing free gigs in London for, like, ever, and you can still see those if you want. But he's also doing his American guide to England at the Leicester Square Theatre every Sunday for the next couple of months, and we think the guy probably deserves some cash (6pm, £10).

Monday 4 March: Mark Thomas is taking his People's Manifesto out on tour before recording more shows for Radio 4. Take your ideas for making the country a better place to the Soho Theatre (9.15pm, £10).

Tuesday 5 March: The irrepressible Phil Nichol guest hosts this month's Distraction Club at the Phoenix, with disturbed country and western singer Loretta Maine (aka Pippa Evans), Jonny and the Baptists, Sarah-Louise Young and Matt Blair (7.30pm, £7.50).

Wednesday 6 March: We still occasionally hiccup with laughter at the memory of Idiots of Ants's show Model Citizens, so it'll be fascinating to see what two of their number – Andy Spiers and Elliot Tiney – do in a new sketch show at the Hen and Chickens. The night's a double bill with Fraser Millward (9.30pm, £6).

Thursday 7 March: The first geek comedy night All Your Internet Are Belong To Us sold out, so it might be a good idea to book tickets in advance to this week's show with James Acaster, Adam Larter, Rob Wells, Caroline Mabey and Gareth Morinan (8.30pm, £5).

Friday 8 March: Bridget Christie is doing her show about feminism and misogyny at the Southbank Centre's Women of the World Festival (8pm, £7.50).

Saturday 9 March: See the brilliant Nish Kumar at the Camden Head with three frighteningly young comics in support: Phil Wang, Glenn Moore and Ivo Graham (7.30pm, £3).
