The Big Egg Hunt is back in London, with over 100 giant painted eggs hidden around Covent Garden.

The hunt, sponsored by Lindt, first ran in the West End from 22 February. Since then, the eggs have been on a whistle-stop tour of Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester and Glasgow, but return to Covent Garden from today until Easter Monday. They will then be put up for auction for Action for Children.

The hunt follows an even bigger event last year, when 200 eggs painted by artists, celebrities and designers were scattered all over the city. That hunt, sponsored by Faberge, engaged an estimated 7 million people and raised over £1 million for charities Action for Children and Elephant Family.

Last month's first flush of the 2013 hunt came and went in London without much attention. While it is not the spectacle it was last year, it still serves as a creative way to raise awareness to help vulnerable and neglected children.
