The industrial skeletons of Victorian gas holders are an integral part of our low rise skyline and look particularly splendid against a bright blue or strange lit sky.

Relics of a bygone age of mass production, redundant gas holders are disappearing from our cityscape, bar the listed buildings. Of which, we are pleased to note, the grade II listed gas holder number 8 is due to return to Kings Cross this year.

Many thanks to our Flickrpool photographers for adding their photos to our pool: ThePhotoSchool, Chris Kench, Bobaliciouslondon, Belfegore, dustry sevens, worldly images, psyxjaw, Dave Gorman, louisberk, jonny2love, Stephskimo and BLTP Photo.
