Motorcycle Display Team, Live @ Old School IndieGet ready to pogo like it's 1999 as Old School Indie returns to the O2 Islington this Saturday 23 February, with a quadruple bill of live bands kicking off a night of your favourite indie, new wave and Britpop tunes.

First on the bill are post-punk trio Resigned, recently hailed by Radio Caroline as "a proper East-End band with great tunes". Expect shades of The Stranglers and singalong melodies from this up-and-coming band. Resigned are followed by Sheffield's favourite alternative pop outfit The Sweet Nothings, with lighthearted songs as sweet as the name suggests, playing their first London date of 2013.

Red Queens, Live @Old School IndieO2 regulars The Red Queens make a welcome return to the venue. Praised for their rich collection of infectious tunes, this North London quartet have built up a  following on the local circuit over the last year, and are hoping to take the airwaves by storm with new releases in 2013.  Local celebrities Motorcycle Display Team, hailed by Right Chord magazine as "an eclectic mix of rock and dancey pop that gives MGMT a run for their money",  take the headline slot. We think there's a healthy dose of The Cribs in there, too.

Bands play from 8pm to 10.30pm, and the £6 admission includes entry to the O2's legendary Old School Indie club night afterwards. Wear your favourite band t-shirt and dancing shoes – the classic indie sounds go on into the small hours.

Live @ Old School Indie, O2 Islington, Parkfield Street N1 0PS. Saturday 23 February, doors 8pm; tickets £6 on the door, or book in advance.
