Guy Reid is an expert at carving miniature individuals that look so realistic they seem like they could come to life at any second. The fact that they are sculpted out of lime wood makes it even more impressive when you notice how detailed they are, despite their small stature.

Each work is delicately hand-painted right down to the finest detail, such as the time on a watch worn by one his creations. By placing some of his sculptures in unnatural positions, he invites viewers to imagine how they came to be like this and what has befallen them.

Guy Reid: Little Me is on display at the Coningsby Gallery, 30 Tottenham Street, W1T 4RJ until 2 March. Admission is free.
