Continuing our series of original art and photography of subterranean London.
Aaron Yeoman has built up a striking collection of photographs, whose lighting and framing really bring out the angles and curves of the Tube system. We've collected together six of his best shots showing escalators and stairs across the network. These most functional of features become objects of beauty when considered thus. Have fun trying to guess the stations. More of Aaron's photography can be viewed here.
We’re still looking for further entries for the Londonist Underground series. All you need to do is imagine something — anything — beneath London, and create some kind of image (painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, photograph…) to share your idea. The image could be fictional or fact-based — from a Womble rave party, to the Shard’s iceberg depths. So long as it’s underneath London or on a related theme, we want to see it. Send entries to matt@londonist.com as soon as possible (no deadline, but we’re hoping to organise an exhibition soon).
