London Poems: High Street Haiku

In the week that both HMV and Blockbuster went bust, Richard Purnell pays timely tribute to these high street stalwarts in haiku.

What now?

Haiku for HMV

"Only idiots,"
Amazon said to dead dog,
"Pay UK taxes."

Richard Purnell helps run The Bus Driver's Prayer, a night of music, spoken word and buses. The next event is Thursday 28 February at 7.30pm at Kahaila Cafe, 135 Brick Lane. BYOB. £4 entry (£6 if bringing alcohol). Follow him on Twitter @richardpurnell.
