According to the NHS, consolidating A&E departments is more efficient, thereby saving more lives.

I'm not too fussed if they close my local A&E, because first aid and transport for serious injuries is provided by ambulances.

I think all hospitals should retain minor injury wards though, because it's vital that they are quickly and easily accessible.
