Drinking, dancing, games and street food kept the lucky revellers invited to the Monkey Shoulder Social Club warm last night as they trashed the stereotypical image of the stuffy whisky club in the industrial setting of east London’s MC Motors.
Greeted on arrival by a range of Monkey Shoulder concoctions, the partygoers found out that whisky could be fun, whether you take it neat, on the rocks, mixed or in cocktails. The Hot Toddy was particularly appreciated on such a chilly winter’s night.
Inspired by imbibing some whisky, Monkey Shoulder’s Cocktail Boot Camp gave guests the opportunity to draw on some expert bartending knowledge and create their own tipples. DJ sets from A Skillz got the crowd dancing, raucous rounds of Rebel Bingo saw some awesome prizes handed out and the vintage games room proved popular with those keen to have a go on Thomas Heatherwick’s Spun Chairs.
When it was time for a sit down the upstairs Movie Room was screening Anchor Man and The Big Lebowski with cinema popcorn, sweets and cocktails on hand and Anna Maes Southern Street Food fed hungry souls with true comfort food.
