Santa's Lap: Moquette Trainers

Every day until Christmas we will be pointing you in the direction of a London-inspired Christmas present that (with a bit of luck) you won’t already have on your list. Climb up onto our collective lap and we’ll see what we can move from our sack to your stockings…

How about trotting round London with restored tube seat covers on your feet? Because that's what these trainers by Above+Below are made from – choose from the District, Central, Bakerloo, Metropolitan, Piccadilly and Victoria lines. You might not be able to match your footwear to your commute as tube upgrades take older trains out of service (and the 'one for all' moquette is introduced) but you can still do it in spirit.

As well as the fabric, the trim is 100% repurposed or recycled leather and the sole is one-third recycled tyre rubber, and are made (possibly to order so, er, may not actually arrive in time for Christmas) in Portugal. Prices vary, but start from £69.99 and go up to £120. The District Line shoes shown cost £94.99, all plus p&p.
