Tom Dingley specialises in photographing the more sinister landmarks of London. His latest exhibition at Freud Bar on Shaftesbury Avenue brings together some of his more recent shots — all black and white, but tinged with red:
Put there by Tom, the red marks, focus on the location where something occurred. The red element acts as a stain on the urban landscape – a bloodstain – that most of us are unaware of, in our everyday lives. We live and walk the streets of London each day, without realising it’s heinous past.
We’ve reproduced six of the photographs above. For now, we’ve left the captions off, so you can try and work out the locations, and the grisly stories associated with them.
These and other photos by Tom are on show at Freud Bar, 198 Shaftesbury Avenue, London, WC2H 8JL, until 26 January 2013. Entrance is free.
