Free & Cheap London Events: 10-16 December

Things to do for a fiver or less this week.

Monday 10 December: Comics try out new material at the Absolutely Free Comedy Night at the Blue Posts, Rupert Street, Soho. Free, just turn up from 8pm, acts on 8.30pm.

Tuesday 11 December: Watch short films from up and coming film makers at Whirlygig Cinema in Stoke Newington. Tickets £5 door / £4 adv / £3 Whirlygig Cinema badge holders from 7.30pm, doors 8pm, acts 8.30pm.

Wednesday 12 December: Head to Highgate for late night Christmas shopping night, including live music and free mulled wine and mince pies until 8.30pm.

Thursday 13 December: Take a virtual magical, mystery bus tour of London's sacred sites with Nigel of Bermondsey and Chris Roberts, at the last SELFS meeting of the year, upstairs at the Old Kings Head off Borough High Street. Entry £2.50, £1.50 conc. all aboard by 8pm.

Haringey Independent Cinema screens Burn After Reading at West Green Learning Centre, N15. Tickets £4, conc. £3. Doors 7pm, film starts 7.15pm.

Friday 14 December: Find out about the Curious History of Christmas Food at Keats House in Hampstead. Free talk with a £5 admission ticket to the house (valid for a year), starts 3pm.

Saturday 15 December: The special Opera by Candlelight night at the Tea Box in Richmond is just £5 advance. Book on 020 8940 3521.

Sunday 16 December: Drop by St John's in Bethnal Green and experience the installation Welcoming the Child in the belfry. Free, just turn up between 11am and 1pm.
