Club Watch: Audiojack & Deniz Kurtel @ The Great Suffolk St Warehouse

In tribute to the impeding patter of royal feet, we got to thinking of the soundtrack that inspired that crucial night of passion. We're going to ignore the fact that Will & Kate have admitted their jam is the execrable audioturd "I like the way you move", and pretend it was a line-up like this Saturday's that got the juices flowing. With a raft of names from Crosstown Rebels and beyond — this is bodywarming music for the icy weekend.

Breathy come-hither vocals, dirgy basslines, 80s synth melodies — just as it seemed this modern style of r'n'b house (for want of a better term), was falling into cliche Deniz Kurtel drops "The Way We Live." An eclectic record informed by her time as an experimental artist, it switches at will between righteous party jams and sultry after hours numbers. Part of the Crosstown Rebels, Wolf + Lamb extended family, she drafts in a range of contemporaries under the Marcy All Stars banner to add extra colour. We're smitten with the swooning "Wake Me Up" below - a collaboration between the appropriately titled Pillowtalk, and the very inappropriate Thugfucker. The trio combine for an hour's soul jam from the stars.

Turning up the heat are Leeds duo Audiojack, whose fine "No Equal Sides" EP has been a recent favourite. Its skittery electro standout "Tunnel Vision" provides a link with the rest of tonight's slinky line-up. Duo Fur Coat, the chorus of their most famous song going "Cocaine and Ketamiiiine", bring some Venezeulan rumba with their sleazy tech house sound. London's own jozif makes sure things remain classy, adorning his deep house with piano and sumptuous strings.

Magna Carta 1st Birthday with Audiojack, Deniz Kurtel and more, Saturday 8th December, The Geat Suffolk St Warehouse, SE1 0NS. More information here.
