London Transport Museum’s new Christmas gift range mixes retro style and contemporary chic with exclusively commissioned pieces inspired by the 150th anniversary of the London Underground and the Museum’s special celebratory exhibition, Poster Art 150 – London Underground’s Greatest Designs.

Metropolitan glassware by LSA features the original Metropolitan Railway crest in gold. The Metropolitan Railway was the world's first underground railway, established in 1863. The range includes decanter, tumbler, tankard, water carafe with glass, and water jug.

The limited edition Blueprint Ceramics are based on the unique and iconic design heritage of the Underground. Exquisitely crafted in Stoke-on-Trent from fine bone china, each piece is hand gilded with 22 carat gold. The decorations are based on archival blueprint drawings of London Underground architectural landmarks, the New Johnston typeface, the iconic roundel and Harry Beck’s Tube map.

Make a statement with a Midland Red leopard print moquette fabric holdall, handbag, shoulder bag and clutch bag. Crafted by Matt Fothergill, the bags recreate the fabulous fabric used by the Midland Red bus company to cover seats on services between Birmingham and London. The leopard print fabric was introduced to the service in 1959 and was considered daring and so very fashionable. The Midland Red range is also available in the Museum’s household accessories and made to order furniture ranges.

The Keeping London Moving posters celebrate the typography and the design of Underground trains since 1863. There are also new limited edition lithographic prints by artist Gail Brodholt which capture the romance and unique experience sensed by people on the Underground.

Go shopping in the Museum’s shop in Covent Garden Piazza or online at www.ltmuseumshop.co.uk. Don’t forget to check delivery information for last Christmas order dates.
