Each city has its own unique sights, smells and sounds - an assault on the senses that can only be experienced by visiting them in person. Alda Terraciano has visited many cities and tried to capture the unique experience in her latest exhibition.

Terraciano uses sound and video to re-create the feeling of visiting 7 cities - London, Mumbai, Naples, Shanghai, Tangiers, Salvador de Bahia and Lisbon. Through showing us daily life in these diverse cities the artist is aiming to demonstrate the similarities between cultures despite their varied heritages.

Visitors will be immersed in each city for 7 minutes in the order the artist has visited them. This way they can seamlessly move between cities but also share in how Terraciano's work has been moulded by her experiences in each location.

Streets of ... 7 Cities in 7 Minutes is on display at Rich Mix, 35-47 Bethnal Green Road, E1 6LA from 4-27 January. Admission is free. The artist will be giving tours of the exhibition on 9 January.
