We don't know if it was the use of Vicky Park as a place to watch all the action during the London 2012 Olympic Games; the new play equipment; the concerts; the new community cafe; the reintroduction of the Chinese Pagoda; the new skate park; or the restored historic monuments... Whatever it was, Victoria Park has caught the public's imagination this year, and been voted the nation's favourite park.

More than 7,000 people voted, and Victoria Park came out on top, beating 1,424 parks and green spaces to the People's Choice Award. The survey was conducted by Keep Britain Tidy’s Green Flag Plus Partnership.
