Around 500 crews of four are involved in this annual time trial, racing four and a half miles from Mortlake to Putney.
A special draw this year is the number of Olympians who will be rowing for their clubs in their first competitive event since sweet success at Eton Dorney. Among them, bronze medallist Alan Campbell in the crew for Tideway Scullers and silver medallist Peter Chambers rowing for Oxford Brookes University. Future stars of Rio 2016 will also be keen to make an impression.
The race starts at 12.15pm on Saturday 10 November. It takes between 17-30 minutes for crews to complete the course, depending on the weather (which looks set to be gloriously sunny, although cool).
Alternatively, watch the Veteran Fours race the same stretch of tidal Thames on Sunday from 1.30pm.
