Preview: Shit London Awards And Exhibition

Shit London is a blog which affectionately celebrates the best and worst parts of the capital, from dead foxes to illiterately-monikered takeaways in the form of pictures submitted by readers.

In the two years since Shit London started there have been two collections of photographs — Twitter followers may have been lucky enough to nab one of the handful of books left in random places around London by founder Patrick Dalton (unless the bomb squad got to them first). Dalton explains:

“There are so many unintenionally amusing things around the city if you just choose to notice them. What I really like about the site and the whole project is that it encourages people to notice their environment around them a little. I’ve learnt a lot more about this city from walking about hunting a good shot.”

This year marks the second annual Shit London Awards accompanied by an exhibition at the KK Outlet, Hoxton Square from 7-22 December. Entry is open to anyone and feature the following categories:

Best/Worst Christmas Decorations
Ugliest London Building
Best/Worst Business Name
Most Depressing View From Work
Best Photo
Best British Photo
Best International Photo

All entries are to be labelled “Awards” and e-mailed to shhhlondon@gmail.com along with where the photo was shot and a brief personal summary of the photograph. All entries must be the photographers original work.
