Free & Cheap London Events: 19-25 November

A selection of things to do this week for a fiver or less.

Monday 19 November: The London History Festival starts today with "The Renaissance: popes, princesses and politics" at Kensington Central Library at 7pm (tickets £5).

Tuesday 20 November: Shoot from the Hip is a night of improvised comedy that runs every week at the Top Secret Comedy Club at the Africa Centre, Covent Garden from 8.15pm (free entry).

Wednesday 21 November: Churchill experts discuss whether Winston was more of a Progressive than a Reactionary at the LSE public lecture from 6.30pm (free, first come, first served).

Thursday 22 November: Work Experience gets artists to respond creatively to the main five headings in an Arts Council grant proposal form (down with baffling admin!) in the bar at Toynbee Studios from 7.30pm (£5 entry).

Friday 23 November: Explore Wimbledon Art Studios and buy directly from artists at the Winter Open Studios Art Show open till 10pm tonight and from 11am-6pm on Saturday and Sunday (free entry).

Saturday 24 November: Shop festively at the Norwegian Church Christmas Fair, which is open Friday to Sunday (£1 entry).

Sunday 25 November: Try archery in Greenwich at the opening day of the Young Archers new venue in the Samuel Montagu Youth Centre between 10am and 1pm (free).
