Two Talks: Blogging London And Underground London

Incoming: a delicious pair of lectures with very London-heavy topics.

Behind The Blog, at Museum of London

Join Dave Hill (Guardian Online), Sonya Barber (Time Out), Michael Pollitt (Snipe London), Chloe McCloskey (Lecool) and Ian Mansfield (Ian Visits) as they discuss blogging about the capital. How do online-only sites complement and compete with traditional magazines and newspapers? What are the pros and cons of this form of publication? Head along to the Museum of London on 17 October for a 7pm start. Tickets are £7 booked in advance.

In Conversation: Underground — How the Tube Shaped London

It's hard to conceive how yet another book about London's underground can distinguish itself from this already groaning microgenre, but a good start would be to combine authors Sam Mullins (long-time Director of London Transport Museum), Oliver Green (the Museum's first and later Head Curator) and David Bownes (another former Head Curator and now at the National Army Museum). Their book is out later this month, in preparation for the Underground's 150th anniversary next year. In the meantime, you can catch the trio in conversation with Robert Elms at London Transport Museum on 29 October, 6.30pm start. Tickets are £5 booked in advance.
