London Stand Up And Sketch Comedy: 28 October-3 November

Where to find funny this week

Sunday: Robin Ince is joined by Josie Long and Bad Science writer Ben Goldacre at Rich Mix, stepping in for Robin's usual Pointless Anger Righteous Ire partner Michael Legge. We don't think there will be much reduction in shouting (8pm, £10 / £8).

Monday: The Awkward Silence (see the video below) host a night of fabulous character and sketch comedy at the Wilmington Arms with Colin Hoult, Jigsaw, Sploshy and Jacob Edwards (7.45pm, £5).

Tuesday: The Horne Section start a four night run at the Southbank Centre. Pick your date from the guests, who include Dave Gorman, Nick Helm, Piff the Magic Dragon and Frisky and Mannish (7.45pm, £20).

Wednesday: Rich Sandling presents a Perfect Movie Halloween special at Leicester Square Theatre (7pm, £10). Nick Helm, James Bachman, Gareth Tunley, Preston Nyman, Eleanor Curry, Steve Pretty and Catharine Rodgers tell all about their favourite scary movies.

Thursday: More than half of Doctor Brown's run at the Soho Theatre is sold out (9.30pm, £12.50-£20). Find out why his show won this year in Edinburgh – though obviously snap up your ticket quickly.

Friday: What a line up at Bush Hall Presents! Reginald D Hunter, Simon Munnery, Best Newcomer at Edinburgh Daniel Simonsen and Richard Herring (7.30pm, £15).

Saturday: There are a handful of tickets left for Sarah Millican at the Hammersmith Apollo tonight (8pm, £20; more available for Sunday night).
