London Stand Up And Sketch Comedy: 21-27 October

Where to find funny this week

Sunday: The Ugly Animal Preservation Society has one of the best names we’ve ever come across, and it’s factually accurate: it’s not just pandas that need help. Join Helen Arney, Helen Keen, Suzi Ruffell, Bush and McCluskey, Ellie Taylor, Dan Schrieber, Steve Cross, Punk Science and Simon Watt from Inside Nature’s Giants for a night of laughs, ugly endangered species and fundraising at The Melrose (7.30pm, £5).

Monday: The Comedy Store hosts another charity night, this time for Save the Children, with Sara Pascoe, Carl Donnelly, Marlon Davies, John Fothergill, Keith Farnan and Imran Yusuf MCing (8pm, £15 / £10).

Tuesday: Milton Jones is doing a week at the Soho Theatre to test out some new surreal one liners. Friday and Saturday have already sold out so snap up tickets while you can (9.30pm, £12.50).

Wednesday: If you want clever comedy try this for a double bill: Rosie Wilby combines love and science and Liz Bentley has some new songs about death, psychotherapy, motherhood and insomnia. We haven’t heard them but we feel confident enough to guarantee they’ll be fantastic. Head to Woolfson & Tay bookshop in Bermondsey Square for 7pm (£8).

Thursday: Fabulously sardonic Dara O’Briain (pictured) – actually, if you don’t know who Dara O’Briain is we’re not sure we can help you – is at the Hammersmith Apollo until Saturday (8pm, tickets from £25).

Friday: The Beta Males bring their post-apocalyptic sketch show to Leicester Square Theatre – very appropriate this close to Halloween (9pm, £10).

Saturday: Last year we thought you might not get another chance to see Andi Osho for as little as £15. OK, so we were wrong, but probably not for long. See her show Single Ladies at the Bloomsbury Theatre (8pm, £15 / £13).
