London Stand Up And Sketch Comedy: 14-20 October

Where to find funny this week

Sunday: Showstoppers will make up a musical before your very eyes, if you take your eyes to Charing Cross Theatre (7pm, £27.50 / £17.50).

Monday: You can't really see Phill Jupitus at the Soho Theatre tonight cos the room will be completely dark. But hearing him should be good enough (9.30pm, £12.50).

Tuesday: Comedians Helen Arney and Helen Keen join women scientists and engineers for Ada Lovelace Day at IET London. Find out about particle physics, robots and why fridges hum (6.30pm, £10 / £5).

Wednesday: Richard Herring's revived Talking Cock show (pictured) is on at the Southbank Centre until Saturday (7.45pm, £15). We had a nice chat with him earlier in the week.

Thursday: We don't know who Tom Allen has as guests for his chat show at the Comedy Cafe Theatre, but previous ones have included Sarah Millican, Matt Smith and Miles Jupp. Don't blame us if it's someone you've never heard of (6pm, £5).

Friday: Doc Brown introduces Late Night Gimp Fight, excellent sketch group Sheeps, Tom Adams, Viz bloke Simon Donald and Mae Martin to Knock2Bag at Rich Mix (7pm, £8 / £12).

Saturday: David Baddiel has been testing out new material at the Soho Theatre all week, so he should have some of the rougher bits ironed out by now (9.15pm, £10). (If you want to see his former comedy partner Rob Newman, head to Lolitics at the Black Heart on Tuesday.)
