Lit Preview: RNIB Literary Wonderland @ Cathedral Square

The RNIB is creating a wonderland near Southwark Cathedral next week for a celebration of children's reading, stimulating the senses with things to hear, see, touch and smell.

Children's authors and celebrities including Sally Gardner, Bali Rai, Sarah Arnold, Steve Smallman, Jason Bradbury and CBBC presenter Ben Hanlin will be hosting reading workshops underneath giant mushrooms. If you get close enough to the mushrooms, you'll also be able to hear Michael Sheen (pictured) reading excerpts from Alice in Wonderland, The Hobbit and The Very Hungry Caterpillar. There'll also be a bookshop selling signed copies of books from David Walliams, Terry Pratchett and (more for the adults, this) EL James among others.

It's completely free and open to everyone, all to celebrate Read for RNIB Day next Friday.

RNIB Day Wonderland is at Cathedral Square, Hibernia Wharf, SE1 9DA, open 18-20 October 9am-6pm, free. For more information see the RNIB website.
