Ticket Alert: The Vaccines, The XX And More

Gigs on sale this week include two acts whose second albums could push them even further into the mainstream, plus a folk singer-songwriter from a musical family. Get tickets to all these from 9am Friday.

Have The Vaccines come of age with album two? It looks that way, as the alt-rockers are apparently big enough to play The O2. See if their new material can fill that huge space on 2 May next year – when they could conceivably be significantly bigger than they are today. Tickets £26 + bf.

If you didn't see The XX in Shepherd's Bush last week, put 16 December in your diary. That's when the stripped back trio – who hit number one with their latest album – headline O2 Academy Brixton. It could be a landmark date for this introverted band. Tickets £25 + bf.

Hailing from a family with impressive musical pedigree, folk singer-songwriter Martha Wainwright once left her hospital bed to play a London gig. Don't expect such dramatics at O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire on 2 December. Tickets £26.50 + bf.

Jumping on the 'let's play an album in full' bandwagon, Manchester psychedelic rockers Inspiral Carpets head for Koko on 22 March next year. Somewhat predictably, they'll play their record 'Life', which charted at number two in 1990. Tickets £19.50 + bf.

Also booking this week: The Blackout, Yellowcard and Ellie Goulding.
