Things To Do In London On The Cheap: 3-9 September


Monday: The BT London Live site at Trafalgar Square presents live music from Geno Washington & The Ram Jam Band at 7.45pm and the Paralympics live on the big screen (free).

Tuesday: Discuss the Pussy Riot case at the ICA from 7pm (£3, members free).

Wednesday: The Dash Cafe hosts a discussion on the past year’s cultural and political happenings in the countries of the former Soviet Union with live folk, fiddle and Balkan music at Rich Mix from 7.30pm (free).

Thursday: Fashion's Night Out means a plethora of parties, window shopping and glamorous people to gawp at. Like the Facebook page for latest news and to scour what's happening where.

Friday: Watch Graeae and Strangefruit perform The Garden on the Southbank's Riverside Terrace as part of Unlimited at 1pm and 6pm, also Saturday and Sunday (free).

Saturday: Head to the river for the fantastic Mayor's Thames Festival, with a huge variety of outdoor arts and performance plus a firework finale — ends Sunday (free).

Sunday: Watch the Paralympic Marathon on the streets of London from 8am - check the route map here.

The Band Stand in Regent’s Park hosts Klezmer in the Park from 1-6pm (free).
