Stitched Version Of Peckham Peace Wall On Show At Southwark Cathedral

The Peckham Peace Wall was one of the most uplifting responses to last summer's riots. The day after the worst violence, residents assembled post-it-notes declaring their love for area at the instigation of local theatre company Peckham Shed. A recreation of the Peace Wall made entirely from textiles is now on show at Southwark Cathedral.

The patchwork quilt is the work of Lara Hailey, who worked with friends and local community groups to replicate 400 of the messages of hope and love. It's on show at the cathedral until 16 September after which it will move to other venues around London.

Another recreation of the Wall can be seen in Peckham Square, as previously reported.
