London Stand Up And Sketch Comedy: 9-15 September

Where to find funny this week

Sunday: Sara Pascoe headlines Lost in Laughter at the Lost Theatre on Wandsworth Road, with ones-to-watch Ian Smith and Jessica Fostekew (7.30pm, £8 / £5).

Monday: Paul Chowdhry's working up a new show. You get two 45 minute halves at the Canal Cafe Theatre for £8 / £6 (7.30pm start).

Tuesday: Josie Long's Lost Treasures of the Black Heart returns to the, er, Black Heart where comedians sing the praises of unknown heroes. Start time and price currently unknown (this gig can be a bugger to get details on) but previous nights started at 8pm and cost about a fiver.

Wednesday: Sean Hughes, Holly Walsh, Lucy Porter, Hal Cruttenden and Andrew O'Neill Stand Up for Animals at the Bloomsbury Theatre, in a benefit for the Humane Society (7.30pm, £20 / £15).

Thursday: Two big telly names at Stoke Newington Town Hall: Andrew Maxwell and Isy Suttie, plus no less funny Hal Cruttenden (7pm, £16).

Friday: Mark Thomas's new show is a bit of a departure from his usual political fare. Bravo Figaro! is all about his dad, an opera-loving south London builder. He's on at Kilburn's Tricycle Theatre until 6 October (7.45pm (£22 / £18 / £15) and there are still a few tickets for a 29 November gig at the Royal Opera House (7.45pm, £10).

Saturday: It's your last chance to get to the Soho Theatre and see Chris Ramsey (pictured; 7.45pm, £12.50) or one of your first chances to see sketch group Idiots of Ants with their most recent full-length show Model Citizens (9.15pm, £10). The Pajama Men are also coming to the end of their run – Saturday and Thursday are sold out, but the rest of the week has tickets available (9.30pm, £17.50 / £15 / £12.50).
