Draw Your Way Out Of The Tower Of London

Imagine you were locked into the Tower of London, with the ravens and Beefeaters and centuries of bloody history...and the only way you could escape would be to draw some pretty pictures. It sounds like a fugitive idea from Alan Partridge's list of TV programme suggestions, but this, in essence, is what you can expect from the Big Draw evening at the Tower in October.

This adults-only event will surround you with all the ambience of the Tower after the tourists have gone home. No drawing expertise is required or even desirable. The idea is to have fun, and get stuck into some proper pencil pushing, under expert tuition, in an environment rich in visual cues — not just the historic battlements and courtyards, but also enlivened by actors and visual effects.

The entry cost includes access to the Tower, and the chance to witness the Ceremony of the Keys, a ritual that has played out every night for 700 years. Light refreshments will also be provided.

The Big Draw at the Tower of London, Friday 5 October 2012, 6.30-9pm, tickets £26. The web site is a bit disjointed, but you can book by scrolling down in the left column here, reading the details, then following the booking instructions in the right column.
