Visit A Tall Sailing Ship At Wood Wharf

This fine-looking vessel will be docked at Wood Wharf (east of Canary Wharf) this weekend. The good ship Tenacious will open her decks to the visiting public on 1 September from 2-4pm, with free entrance (though donations would be appreciated).

She's not just a handsome vessel, but is also rigged up to accommodate crew with various disabilities. Wheelchair lifts connect the decks, and a talking compass helps the visually impaired. The tall ship was sailed in by a team of young disabled and able-bodied German students to coincide with the Paralympic Games. Members of the Jubilee Sailing Trust, who operate the ship, will be on hand over the weekend to show visitors around. No pirate impressions, please.
