Ticket Alert: The Black Keys, Everything Everything, Crystal Castles

It seems like every band that played Reading Festival at the weekend has just announced a tour, so here’s our pick of new gigs on sale this week. Tickets to all these should be available from 9am on Friday.

Canadian electronic duo Crystal Castles have an other-worldy stage presence and an unearthly sound which combines harsh distortions and a poppier, accessible edge. A compelling proposition live, they play O2 Academy Brixton on 24 November. Tickets £17.50 + bf.

The Black Keys have a heavy, distinctive blues-rock sound which they brought to a trio of sold out gigs at Ally Pally in the snow earlier this year. With seven albums to draw on, they should have no trouble selling out The O2 on 12 December. Tickets £30 + bf.

If their raucous show and instrument smashing antics at Reading are anything to go by, The Cribs are on form at the moment. They tend to make up for what they lack in vocal subtlety with enthusiasm and a raw, ragged live edge. See them play a Q Awards show at HMV Forum on 20 October. Tickets £20 + bf.

With an altogether slicker sound, Everything Everything were Mercury-nominated last year for their album of intricate arrangements and distinctive falsetto vocals. The arty quartet will preview their second album at Village Underground on 23 October.

Two Door Cinema Club are another band seemingly made for festivals, with a bunch of hook-heavy tunes and a bright sound that’s perfect in the sunshine. So, they should be just right for O2 Brixton Academy on 8 February. Tickets £16.50 + bf.

Also booking this week: Kaiser Chiefs, The Vaccines and Tallest Man on Earth.
