Ticket Alert: Stone Sour, Jack White, St Etienne And More

While you look forward to the Bank Holiday, here's our pick of upcoming gigs on sale this Friday. Tickets to these should be available from 9am.

Iowan rock giants Stone Sour have Slipknot's Corey Taylor on vocals, Grammy nominations under their belts and a two-part album in the works. Their first UK tour for two years includes a stop at O2 Academy Brixton on 10 December. Support will come from Papa Roach and tickets are £29.50 + bf.

Jack White made his first foray into solo material this year with the release of his album Blunderbuss. Played live - with one of his two bands - the material takes on a whole new dimension, and at his London shows earlier this year he combined it with White Stripes tunes and covers to glorious effect. He'll be well worth the trip to Alexandra Palace on 2 November. Tickets £30 + bf.

The Heartbreaks are a jangly quartet from Morecambe via Manchester, who have more than a touch of The Smiths about them. Their latest record is all about the seaside, so can they recreate a coastal feeling at Dingwalls on 1 November? Find out with tickets £9 + bf.

Uplifting, enthusiastic live shows and a danceable sound have propelled techno-rave-rapper Example firmly into arena territory. Last time in London he was at The O2, this time round he'll visit Earls Court, on 23 February. Tickets £28.50 + bf.

We saw Saint Etienne earlier this year and felt they fell some way short of their heyday. Still, there were some excellent moments, and perhaps the tight surroundings of O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire will suit them better. See them on 14 December. Tickets £22.50 + bf.

Also booking this week: a new date for Bat for Lashes, The Twang (who seem to have survived the landfill indie backlash) and Conor Maynard.
