Preview: Vauxhall Ampera x Super/Collider Science Weekend

Design meets science meets art meets product placement at the Filling Station in King's Cross this weekend. The wretchedly named (it has to be said) Vauxhall Ampera x Super/Collider Science Weekend will see all kinds of intelligent frivolities played out on the forecourt of the former petrol station.

Vauxhall will be showing off its new electric car (the Ampera bit of the title) and asking "when we no longer need petrol pumps, what will go on in the filling stations of tomorrow?". Art installations from Patrick Stevenson-Keating’s will explore similar themes, speculating on possible designs for future forecourts. You can also play around inside one of the personal transport podules from Heathrow Terminal 5, watch demonstrations of catalytic clothing and zero-emission vehicles, and generally hang out with people who are interested in fuelling our future.

The weekend, put together by pop-science outfit Super/Collider, is free to attend and runs 12-10pm on Friday through Sunday. Full details here.
