Lit Preview: Hampstead And Highgate Literary Festival

For anyone watching snippets of events at the Edinburgh Book Festival and slowly turning green, this three day lit fest may soothe your pain. Now in its fourth year, the Hampstead and Highgate Literary Festival always brags an impressive line-up and this time is no different.

Famous novelists, check: Howard Jacobson, Rose Tremain, Gillian Slovo, Lisa Jewell, John O'Farrell; household names, check: Michael Palin, Pam Ayres, MPs Peter Hain and David Lammy; authors who are for some reason less well known, check: SJ Watson (Before I Go To Sleep), Sarra Manning (Nine Uses for an Ex Boyfriend), Jen Campbell (Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops); non fiction, check: Alison Weir, John Mullan, Kate Colquhoun, David Aaronovitch, Michele Hanson, Simon Heffer, Tom Holland. And these are just highlights.

The festival takes place at Ivy House in Golders Green. Ticket prices range between £7-£12 with discounts for multiple bookings, or £20 for workshops.

The Hampstead and Highgate Literary Festival runs 9-11 September at Ivy House, 94-96 North End Road, NW11. For more information and how to book tickets, see the festival website.
